A Regal Afternoon at the Bridgertea Event

Today, my friend Angie and I stepped back in time as we attended the Bridgertea event at Hanover Tavern. This immersive experience transported us to the opulence of the Regency era, where we sipped on fine teas and indulged in the most delicate pastries, all while surrounded by the elegance of a bygone time.

The “queen” herself, graced us with her royal presence and bestowed a prize upon the Diamond of the Season. While kudos go to the well-deserving winner, I must say—Angie should have won! She went all out with her attire, from her beautifully styled hair to her perfectly era-appropriate shoes. Regardless of the competition results, she looked absolutely stunning and fully embraced the spirit of the event. Most importantly, she had a fantastic time, which is what truly matters.

Adding to the charm of the day, we shared a table with four lovely ladies, and it was a pleasure getting to know them. There’s something so special about connecting with fellow enthusiasts who appreciate history, tradition, and a well-brewed cup of tea.

To our delight, we learned that Hanover Tavern hosts four themed tea events each year! Unfortunately, I’ll be away on vacation in July and will have to miss the steampunk-themed gathering. However, Angie and I are already looking forward to the September event—theme still to be determined, but there’s talk of a Downton Abbey-inspired affair. If that’s the case, you can be sure we’ll be ready to embrace the elegance of Edwardian England!

This was truly an unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait to return for another delightful afternoon of tea, history, and camaraderie.
