Taking care of my skin has become a bigger priority for me recently. At 56, I’ll admit I’m still figuring out what works best for my skin, but I’ve started a new nighttime routine that’s already feeling like a little bit of self-care at the end of each day. I wanted to share what I’m using, along with links in case you’re curious about any of the products or tools. Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Prep and Cleanse
The first step is pulling my hair back and getting ready to cleanse. I start with an exfoliating face wash that helps keep my skin smooth and refreshed. It’s great for tackling texture and giving me that fresh-face feeling.

Step 2: Micellar Water for Clean Eyes
After cleansing, I use micellar water to remove any leftover makeup—especially around my eyes. Even on days when I don’t wear much makeup, this step makes sure my skin is completely clean.

Step 3: Refresh with Toner
Next, I use an alcohol-free toner to balance my skin. It’s a simple step, but it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and ready for hydration.

Step 4: Lock in Hydration
A good moisturizer is essential, especially with our colder weather these days. This one has been my go-to lately, and it keeps my skin feeling hydrated without feeling heavy.

Step 5: Don’t Forget the Lips!
I can’t end my routine without taking care of my lips. My favorite nighttime lip product is Aquaphor. It’s budget-friendly and works like a charm.
Step 6: Collagen Boost
Adding a collagen serum to my routine has been a game changer. I’m hoping this will help improve elasticity over time—plus, it feels great on my skin.

Step 7: The Infrared Sculpting Tool
Now for my newest addition: the LED face sculpting tool. Yes, I’ll admit I was influenced to buy it, and so far, I think I might be seeing a slight difference after a week of use. It’s supposed to help lift and tighten, which is definitely what I’m aiming for!
I’ll keep you updated on the results as I continue using it, but for now, it’s a fun way to finish my routine.
I’m sharing my skincare journey because it’s never too late to start taking care of your skin. I’d love to know what’s working for you, too.
