Life with senior dogs is a unique blend of challenges and deep rewards. Bear, our almost 13-year-old Bichon Frise/Maltese mix, and Teddy, our nearly 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix, have been part of our family since they were puppies. Watching them age has been bittersweet — it reminds us how precious our time together is.
As they’ve gotten older, I’ve become more intentional about keeping them happy and healthy. They’ve given us so much love and joy over the years, and now it’s my turn to do the same for them. That’s why today I decided to try something new: making homemade dog treats!
The recipe was a simple, three-ingredient wonder and so easy to whip up. It didn’t take much time, and the best part? Bear and Teddy absolutely loved them! Seeing their tails wag and knowing I gave them a little extra love in the form of a treat made it all worthwhile.
Our pets are family, and making something special for them was a small way to show how much they mean to us. If you have dogs, whether young or old, I encourage you to try making these treats too! I’ll share the recipe below so you can see just how simple it is.
Let’s cherish the time we have with our furry friends — every moment is a gift. ❤️ 🐾
